I want the Speedy Entry tool to only show the Castanets Instrument and NOT show all the percussion instruments. When i find the 'Castanets' note in Speedy Entry and enter it, the note appears ABOVE the single line staff.

I am unable to duplicate your problem.

I suspect that you have done something wrong.

Here are my own steps - to create the Castanets staff:

ScoreManager > Instrument List

Add Instrument > All > Percussion > Castanets

When I do so, the Speedy Entry Tool shows only the Castanets (and no other instruments).

I get the note AROUND the single staff-line.

I suspect that you have done something wrong.

Ah, it turns out I had to go into Percussion Layout Selection and select the corresponding instrument!
