I am trying to transpose an entire document!  I have composed a song cycle which is written for Sop/Ten.  I am taking this file and transposing it for Alto/Bar  I have saved the original document as (an example) "title" alto  So now I have the copy of the original piece so I can transpose down (ex: a minor 3rd).  How do I achieve this?  The original document has key changes and when I transpose, the entire document is transposed to the new key, but the section where the key change has occurred, does not transpose in accordance.  It remains in the new key.  I have tried several means and not sure what I am doing wrong.  Can anyone help me with this?

Gary,

 

I'm assuming that you're using Finale and not Printmusic. Just use the key signature tool to change the key and select the "transpose all keys proportionally" option.

Thank you so much... I think what I was doing wrong was not highlighting the entire document.. only the first measure.. when I did that initially, the TRANSPOSE ALL KEYS PROPORTIONALLY option was disabled.
