I operate with Finale 25.2.0.79 and iMac high sierra 10.13.6

Please list the proper steps/settings to be able to compose and playback typical "trap set" sounds All on ONE staff.  

Also, it would be great if anyone could explain to me just how one is to know exactly what settings/categories to selecting when trying to create ANY sounds, especially those somewhat out of the ordinary, when setting-up a score.  EG muted trumpets w/ harmon mute sound, wind chimes, etc..  Every time the procedure has been explained to me in the past I've never understood just how I'm supposed to "know" what steps/category assignments to select.  How do I find that out?
