MacBook Pro 2018 - 8gb ram, 3.1gHz OS X High Sierra
GPO 5, Aria v1.872

I just got a new laptop and used my GPO license to put GPO 5 and the Aria player onto the new computer. It’s worked perfectly for a month in little projects and tests, now I’m working on a real session and it worked great for a week and all the sudden the MIDI are triggering the player but then quickly the notes fade and crackle away. I thought it may be buffer size or overloading the CPU but all of that is fine. I kept messing with the buffer size a day ago and it magically got better, then I open my session again today and it’s back to where it was. This is a semi-professional level session and I need to get back to work on it ASAP. Any advice helps!!

Thank you,

Cole S

Hi Cole.

It does sound like you are encountering a buffer or other resource issue here. In addition to the buffer setting, you may also want to check the settings on the Max Engine RAM Allocation located on the Settings view of the ARIA Player. If this does not help, I suggest opening a ticket with us using the Submit a Request button above.

Thank you so much!! That was the trick. Had my Max Engine RAM set to only 256mb and was working with a bunch of Aria tracks playing at the same time. I put it to 1gb and all seems well so far. My computer only has 8gb of RAM in total so what is the best size to set the MAX Engine RAM to?
