Hi!
The smart find and paint feature would be sooooo much more useful if
- the source are could start with a rest (this would keep me from having to draw exact boxes instead of simply clicking a bar)
- it would be less "strict" in interpreting target bars. If I have 20 staves of exactly the same music, but ONE note is shorter than the others or contains a grace note or something it won't paint.
To my understanding "smart find and paint" is not much more than a certain filter setting that finds rhythmically equivalent passages. Since I doubt that someone is applying paint to and entire score but something roughly in the vicinity of the source, the rhythmic analysis could be less strict. It would be enough to just take into account the START of notes, not the length.
