New finale user. I have watched the tutorials and have read many forums about this topic and I am not quite understanding how to make it work. I would like to have a traditional score that has 1st & 2nd horn on one staff and 3rd & 4th horn on another staff.

When I print parts, I would like it to print each horn part separately, so horn 1 on 1 page, 2 on another and so on. I have gone into the manage parts box, and have tried to understand what I am linking, but the look of the score does not change. I am assuming I have to also go to score manager and change the name of the staff to "1st & 2nd Horn in F" and so on. I also know I have to voice each part in layers.. would I put horn 1 in layer 1, horn 2 in layer 2 and so on? This is where I definitely get lost.

Will someone be so kind as to give me a step by step starting from the setup wizard so that I can generate a band score that has the 4 parts split into 2 staffs that are titled "1st and 2nd horn" and then be able to print 4 separate parts?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

When you go to manage parts to create the separate parts, the score will NOT change. You have the basics down - in Score Manager yes change the labels like you say. When creating the parts, the Specify Voicing sometimes produces results I don't want and it all gets a bit tricky. That's why I almost always produce two scores: one for Parts, one for the Conductor. Takes a bit more time (Implode helps a lot) but in the long run it saves me time - I think.
