When I copy (Ctrl c) the content of several pages (f.x. 5-10 pages), and insert them (Ctrl v) after the original pages, the copy isn't always intact. I might get the first page + a couple of lines from page 2. This is rather annoying, especially as I often make 200 page scores where layer 1 contains the same page over and over Again. Why willl Finale not allow me to copy fx page 1-10 and insert them 20 times using Ctrl v?
I have made a document with 100 empty pages, and 14 staves and 8 measures in each stave. Then I put notes in the first, third, fifth etc. measure, leaving every second measure empty. When I copy and paste this page multiple times, I might get some full copies, and suddenly only a couple of staves on one page with no more copies after that.
I have also tried the demo version Finale 26, and the problem seems to exist there too. The funny thing is, that there seems to be some kind of randomness to the process. Yesterday I first tried to make 20 copies (multiple paste), and it worked. Then I tried 25 copies, and it didn't work. After that I tried 30, and it worked!
Maybe the copy/paste function isn't designed to copy/paste 25 or more pages at the time, or maybe my computer hasn't got enough RAM, resulting in the pasted pages being reduces. Copying and pasting in Scroll View doesn't doesn't help, by the way.
To try a different tack...
Can you say what you are trying to create with this technique? A piece of music? A set of exercises?
If we know what you wish to accomplish, we might be able to offer more help. I have not had any problems with copy/paste that did not turn out to be something I had overlooked (filter settings, incomplete measure stacks, etc.)
