Doing a lot of gigs that require charts in Finale. It would be ideal if I could have a standard way to annotate my keyboard patches in the FInale charts.

In the old, pre-software days copyists has rubber stamps they would use for things like this. If this were Word, I'd create a table in a frame and paste it into the header of the first page.

Since I sometimes have to change patches for different bands or different configurations, I don't want to create a graphic for each config. Anyone have any experience doing this?

Thanks in advance -

Pat

If you use standard (named) patches, you can add the names as text or expressions above your keyboard part. If these are custom patches, you might have to create a name for them in text or expressions and refer to a page where you list the specific settings.

Thank you. I don't use standard patches, so that's out.

However, I did create a Text Expression that I think will do the job.

How do you justify a text expression? I can only seem to use the default (centered).

In the Text Tool...

To adjust the text within the frame, use the Edit Text option (and then the items in the Text Menu will let you fix justification).

To adjust the position of the Frame, choose the Edit Frame Attributes instead. That will even let you attach your text to a specific measure and instrument.
