I use Finale 26 on Windows 10.

If Finale crashes, it will not restart afterward unless I reboot the computer.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you,
Giancarlo

First order of business: what are you doing that seems to bring on the crash?

Second: you may have to restart the computer because various Finale sub-routines (like the audio engine) are not closing when the program crashes.

Thank you for your reply. The crash seems to be happening at the end of the playback. What should I do to avoid rebooting the system? How would I close the audio engine, if that is indeed the problem?

Thank you,
Giancarlo

Hello,  I'm running Windows 10 x64 with the latest Finale 26.1.0.397.  Even without any file open, I closed Finale then unable to reopen it.  Checking Task Manager, I found a "Finale" in Background process is unresponsive.  End Task got error "Access is Denied".  This is a new Windows 10 build.

With Windows, especially Win10, sometimes a reinstall and reboot will fix such issues. If not, Tech Support as MikeR has already suggested.
