So I tried to write a new song for trombone choir today, but I stopped once I realized that the playback sound is cracking horribly. This is an issue that I have never had a problem with in the past, and only occurred after I added a rainstick to my instrumentation. I looked up multiple forums to figure it out, but all solutions involved turning off other programs/figuring out the sound card is being over used. I would hope that is not the case for my computer because it is relatively a 1200$ computer.

The specs are as follows:

EVGA 1070 ti Video Card

2700x AMD Ryzen Processor

600 Watt power supply

2 tb harddrive

120 gig ssd

If anyone could help me fix this, I would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Try to reduce the buffer on your sound card/sound output device.

I figured out the issue. Basically my monitor has a speaker so I switched between the headset I am using and that, and found that the monitor is working fine. It turns out that all I needed to do was to unplug and re-plug in my headset and the issue was fixed.

Thank you guys for the help!
