Hi there,

Although GPO5 is at the top on the list of the sound maps, every template sets ARIA Player as the default playback device in the Score Manager.

Is it possible to get Finale to assign GPO5 to every instrument of the template by default? (I always have to click 'Reassign  Playback Sounds' and wait for the system to make corresponding changes.

 

Win 10, 64-bit; Finale 26.1

The Aria Player is what Finale uses to play the Garritan sounds, in your case GPO5.

Everything you say sounds normal.

 

Have you set your Sound Priority list to do what you want?

Finale seems to treat GPO5 and ARIA Player as different Devices... So every time I choose a Finale template, Finale sets ARIA Player as a default playback Device and not GPO5. When ARIA Player is set as a Device, there are no VSTis assigned to the staves, so I hear nothing and have to click 'Reassign Playback Sounds' to make the system replace ARIA Player for GOP5 in all banks and channels. Please take a look at the screenshots.

Perhaps you should consult MM Support directly via the "Submit a request" link at the top of this page. This may have something to do with the folders in which various data files or .dll files are located or may have something to do with setup aspects of the program I am missing.
