Hi

The post "score too large" answered most of my questions, but there was just one thing - the person was asking about fitting a large score to A4 size. I was wondering if changing the settings to A3 size would be a good idea, since eventually the conductor will need a much bigger paper score to look at. Or will it not matter?

I'm using Finale v26.2.1.464 on an iMac, OS 10.12.6

Thanks

Your project will dictate the best score size to use. A3 is fine if that meets your needs. I engrave for a US publisher, we use 9" x 12", which is close to A4.

thanks. The thing is, there are 41 staves. If they print that on A4 it will be unreadable. I guess my question should read : if I send it to them in A4 size, can they enlarge it at their end. Maybe that's not a purely Finale-related question...

If A4 is unreadable, than go bigger. It's just logic. I wouldn't expect anyone else to enlarge a score for me, do it in the size that you need. And if you don't have a printer that will print the bigger size, then print to PDF and bring the PDF file to an office supply or copy store.

If you're doing this for a specific band/orchestra, then you should be having this conversation with them. Find out what they prefer and what printers do they have at their disposal.
