Just installed my new CFX Concert Grand. It plays wonderfully as a stand alone. Really love the product.
When playing the VSTi CFX in my REAPER DAW, all sounds good and works fine except for a frequent cracking (switching) noise which is audible during playing, recording and playback.
My system:
Windows 10
4 Ghz CPU with 8 GB RAM
CFX installed on a dedicated 240 GB SSD
VSTi played with KAWAI MP7 piano
MIDI via KAWAI USB

Hi

I'm on mac, and there are cracking/Windy noises too.
I think it's in the samples... a lot of forums talking about it.
Just bought it, and really not happy about this. Very unprofessional.
Good for Garritan that we can't try it before having it..

The "crackling noises may be from one of two sources.

The first might be that your soundcard may be set with too few buffers (or too low latency). Try increasing this slightly and it might solve the problem.

The second might be that your hard disk simply can't "deliver" the samples quickly enough.

I cured this by moving the sample library onto a SSHD - and the loading speed problem just went away. I also use the Vienna Symphonic suite - and that simply won't work without an SSHD.

I hope that helps.
