Using Sonar Producer with Windows 7. Just recently purchased JABB so I assume it is the latest version. I insert via soft sync the JABB into a file I am working on. I align the midi track I want to play (lets say tenor sax assigned to midi channel 7 in my controller) input and output to correspond with the ARIA track created. That means in the tenor sax track In = E-DSP Port 2 (my sound card name) / midi channel 7. Out = Aria player. In the ARIA track I assign In = Aria Player 15/16 out stereo. Out = E-MU (more of my sound card name) ASIO 15 Out (note there is no 15/16 out option, only 15 out). After selecting an instrument in the JABB (say tenor sax 1) I then align the parameters of the JABB insert to line up with the 2 midi tracks. This means the fields are as follows moving right to left: Tune / 0 / Def / 32 / 15/16 / 7 /.
I can then play with my mouse the JABB keyboard insert in the file and get the nice JABB tenor sax sound. However, as soon as I even unmute or try to playback the tenor sax track in my file all I hear is the tenor sax sound from my controller (a Roland synth). I also now cannot get any sound when I play the JABB keyboard insert directly with my mouse.
Please note I have tried without success about every mathematical combination I can come up with in terms of the various in and out ports of the 3 items here, the midi track, the ARIA track and the JABB insert. All to no avail. I had a lot of difficulty a while back getting Garritan's PO to work with the same software / hardware I am using here. I finally got it to work using the configuration I describe about, although it logically never made sense to me.
I have read in the past others having difficulty with Garritan / Sonar interfacing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Van
