Sorry to post what is probably simple to solve, but I just can't figure out where to look in the manual.

Someone sent me a score to edit. When I work on the page formatting on his document, I can move staff systems outside the existing page margins. (All I want to do is move them up and down. For as long as I can remember (like the mid 1990's) in my own work, when I move a staff system, it snaps to the page margins. What parameter do i have to set to make this happen? Is it some aspect of "Document Options"?

Thanks!

By default, the setting *Avoid Margin Collisions* in the Page Layout menu is checked. It sounds like this setting is unchecked. That being the case, there might be a coda system somewhere in the score (2 systems on 1 line). Is that right? If so, it's best to leave it unchecked.

If you hold the SHIFT key, it should constrain dragging so that you don't get any horizontal movement if moving up/down initially.

Yes that's it. Setting was unchecked.

Thanks so much!
