I added some extra bars to the start of a score.  The full staff names still appear at the beginning of the system that was the original start of the piece.  Any ideas how to force Finale to display abbreviated staff names?  Any idea how such a problem could occur?

Thanks!

Use a staff style to change the errant staff naming if it does not go away on its own when you restart Finale.

This problem has appeared again.  Can Finale please fix this bug?!  Obviously I can make a staff style to force hide the staff name, but why should I have to do that?  The program shouldn't have this problem in the first place.  It should just work the way it's supposed to.  What is more, I can find no way of requesting that the abbreviated staff name appear.  What on earth is going on?

I do not see this problem in Finale 27. Since I did not keep Finale 26 on my system, I cannot test it in that Finale version. Were these measures started at the very start of the score or just withing the first page? Were the inserted measures blank or did the inserted stack contain music?

I recommend, create a new blank score and copy and paste all the music. It is possible that the problem George has encountered was due to a conflict in this file only. I hope this comment is helpful. Saludos desde Colombia

Thanks so much for replying.  I've found the problem.  That particular measure's settings had the "show full staff name" box ticked.  I unticked it, and the full staff name disappeared.
