Within the same piece of music, I would like to have two different fretboard diagrams for the same chord. Specifically, a diminished seventh chord that would be given the same name, but played on different strings at different places in the tune. When I edit the second fretboard diagram in question, Finale then changes my previous one that has the same name.
I have to do that all the time. Put your chord in ... for example an A minor. Whatever pops up may or may not be the correct fingering of your chord. If you don't like it, double click on the fretboard diagram and the editor opens. Click "Select..." If you intend to use the diagram Finale provides at some point in the document, but you want to use a different fingering choice at the moment, you'll need to duplicate the chord and then edit it. Whatever chord ends up being first in line will be the default chord chart. If you don't want to use the default chord, then you'll select an alternate version. You can re-order them in the edit box so your preferred chord chart becomes the default chord.
