When arranging for very large ensembles, sometimes I only see the lowest 10 staffs. Rehearsal marks are only visible on the top.

When you want to write some notes starting from a new section (with a rehearsal mark) you have to scroll up every time.

This could be solved by a visible line from top to bottom at the place of a rehearsal mark. Only in the software. It can disappear when you print the music.

Some pictures to make my point a bit more visual:

When I scroll down, there is no clue where my rehearsal mark starts.

Placing a colored line, would help!

The coloured line alone would not give enough information about the section, e.g. whether it's letter B/C/D.

Much more versatile and already possible: edit the staff list so that rehearsal letters are shown at the top staff of each instrument section. Before printing, restore the staff list to show rehearsal letters only on the score's top staff.

Nevertheless, I would support a "colour" property for each notation element, based on object categories (e.g. a default colour for double barlines) which is editable (so that you can change the colour of each e.g. each double barline to any colour you wish).

As Harald said, edit your staff list to display the rehearsal marks on multiple staves. If nowhere else, you need one above the strings. The conductor would need these rehearsal marks also, colored lines wouldn't help him.

Also when working on large scores having multiple monitors is helpful, and having a big monitor which can pivot to a portrait orientation displaying the entire score is extremely helpful.

Harald's and Jeffrey's suggestions would be very useful, I think.

It's not uncommon to have tempi, rehearsal marks and measure numbers show above the strings even in the printed score.

If you find it too cluttering with rehearsal marks on every staff when working, you may design a special 'work score list' for the staves you want.
