Hi, I'm in the final stages of editing parts, and I have been moving measures around to avoid collisions of tempi, expressions etc. I have some overlapping tempi that I have fixed by using the measure tool to adjust the width of multimeasure rests. The problem is that every time I fix it, the edit only stays while I am in that part - when I leave the part and come back, and when it prints, they are right back to overlapping. How can I adjust the width of measures and have them stay put? The first picture is how I want them to look, and the second picture is what it always bounces back to. Thanks.

Right-click on a multimeasure rest "measure" and go to:

Multimeasure Rest > Edit...

and adjust the measure width there.

Thanks, that seems to work initially, but it still just jumps right back to the default 1.25 after I exit the part, or when I go to print it...

(BTW using Finale 26 on a Mac, OS X 10.13.6)

Oh, right. Make sure "Update Automatically" is unchecked in:

Document Options > Multimeasure Rests
