I have a trombone part that I need to have play an alternate line the second time in a repeated section. Rather than writing a divisi part that would look messy, I need to only have four bars of a new staff under the original part. Is this possible?
The most reliable way to create what amounts to an ossia (or temporary divisi part) in Finale would be to create a second staff under the original, set the extra staff to hide empty measures and then use a Staff Style (cutaway) if needed to hide the unused measures if they take up part of a line.
You can do this in both the full score and the part.
