Hello,

I am a classical music composer and own the latest version of V26 and the SC Grand Marimba library playing through Kontakt. It is a superb musical resource for composers like me as I compose a lot of music for pitched percussion that is performed all over the world. For my composing, I usually use the library in my DAW (Cubase) and then transfer to Finale but I have just been commissioned to compose a concerto for marimba and large symphony orchestra and the best way for me to work with such large symphonic forces is directly in Finale (V26-latest update). I have imported Kontakt in Finale and run SC Grand Marimba through it, but I cannot figure out how to program the four samples (normal, tremolo, stick, bow) by suing the Human Playback in Finale so that I can trigger the key switches on the marimba from the normal notation symbols. More specifically, I can go into Finale Human Playback and set the Kontact key switches to respond to normal text triggers (like “roll,” “stick,” etc.) but I would very much like to see if I can use the bowed tremolo sign of  the Maestro font set in the score and have this trigger the “roll” or “tremolo” feature on the Grand Marimba, instead of defaulting to a mechanical sounding fast repetition which sounds less ideal. If I use normal font indications, I can get them to work but then the score notation is simply incorrect. I haven’t been able to use Maestro fonts as triggers for Kontakt.

I am under a bit of pressure with this project. It is meant to celebrate the Greek bicentennial next winter with a major orchestra in Athens and then by other orchestras around the world and sending to the producers clean-looking scores and properly-sounding audio as the composition progresses is paramount.

I would be grateful for any heads up on this problem.
