Hey all, I'm running finale 26.1 on windows 10. I have this annoying problem. I'm working on a quiet section in a large orchestra piece so I've got my headphones on pretty loud (garritan). Whenever I use ALT+9 to bring up the tuplet definition window, the OS plays a system chime sound. Normally it would be fine, but with the volume jacked up to hear my quiet orchestration it burns a hole in my brain! Any way to turn this off? The same thing happens, I just noticed, if you open a dialog box such as About Finale and click outside of it.
AHA! I found in on my own. If anyone else finds this thread and wishes to know the solution, open your System Sounds window (in Windows, not Finale). Select the event Default Beep, and then you can choose what to hear. This is the event that Finale calls when you open the tuplet box. You could set to None, but other programs might depend on your hearing something for certain events. Windows Navigation Start is a far quieter sound, and shorter. Bonus: it's not tonal, so you won't lose track of whatever melody you had in your head, either!
