I am on a Macbook Pro OS 10.13.6. Finale 26.2.2. Can I export a group of Finale files to pdf's all in a batch rather than one at a time?

Take a look at

Plug-ins menu > FinaleScript > FinaleScript Palette…

In the subfolder Batch Process there is

Batch Save As Graphic

I am not sure I understand.

The script will process the Finale documents in a folder.

In Other Words:

To export “a group” (= your own words) of Finale documents, the documents must all be in the same folder.

Perhaps that detail is what you were missing?

Please describe your steps so that we can see, what you are doing, and what happens, when you do so.

Then, I am confident we can tell you, what you are doing wrong.

When I select a folder with several Finale files, the Finale program is not open, only my finder. In order for Finale to open, I need to select a single Finale file (or maybe not).

… When I select a folder with several Finale files, the Finale program is not open …

That is what you are doing wrong.

FinaleScript can not run unless the Finale program is open.

First, launch the Finale program.

You do not have to open any Finale documents.

Then, from within Finale, follow the description in my first post:

Plug-ins menu > FinaleScript > FinaleScript Palette…

In the subfolder Batch Process there is

Batch Save As Graphic

PS

You are using Finale 26.2.2 in Mac OS 10.13.6 - right?

Peter, this is really helpful, thank you.
The only other question I would have is how to save in PDF format rather than TIFF. Graphics default to TIFF, and I can't see an obvious way of changing that to PDF in the script.

James Sharp,

You are using Mac Finale - right?

You can edit the FinaleScript script so that it defaults to PDF.

Reviving this thread because I'm unable to get this FinaleScript to work. Mac Sonoma/Finale 27.4. Followed the instructions in this thread but Finale chooses random folder to start converting and then I can't find the PDFs it says it's creating. Other bugs too, but wondering if someone has perfected this FinaleScript?

I have not tried but there's a lot of discussion in the Dorico threads about it. Someone may have posted an edited script that saves everyone some time.
