I recently upgraded to Finale 26 from 2014.5. I run on both Mac and PC, but my issue was when working on my Mac (2010 Mac Pro running Sierra). I'm notating an orchestral piece and for a number of instruments I want to put instruments 1 and 2 (or 1 and 3 for horns)  on a single staff. I used the orchestral template which had the flutes on two different staves. I've tried editing the name in the staff attributes and I've looked at the score manager. In Staff Attributes I edited the name but ended up with Flutes 1-2 1. Apparently, the original number is not editable in staff attributes. So I went to the score manager and the name is not editable at all in the score manager. Please don't tell me to delete the staves and then add them. How do I edit a staff name in Finale 26?
