Forgive me if this issue has been addressed, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere! I'm having a frustrating issue with version 25, which I otherwise love, and I don't recall this issue happening in previous versions. Basically, my enharmonic choices for a given note ("9" in speedy entry, for example) have been reduced to just two options: for example, I'm working on a project where the trumpet part is in Db major (B concert), and there's a figure with a chromatic passing tone from A natural to A flat. Finale is giving me the enharmonic options of B double-flat or C triple-flat when I toggle spelling with "9" in speedy, and it isn't letting me switch to A natural. To get it to spell the passage with an A natural, I have to go into simple entry and enter, by hand, an A natural, then delete the Bbb with the eraser. This is monumentally time-wasting and frustrating compared to simply toggling to an A natural with the speedy command.
I compose and arrange a lot of jazz and contemporary instrumental music, so I often choose my own enharmonic spellings for the sake of fast sight-reading and practicality over theoretical scrupulousness. So I'm not interested in a debate over the correctness of Finale's default choices: I am a very experienced and theoretically-savvy professional career composer and arranger, so I know what I'm doing and why. :-) I'd love to be able to simply get a natural instead of a double-flat when I want a natural instead of a double-flat without resorting to simple entry, as I was able to do in previous versions of the program.
Any insight or help from developers or the community will be well appreciated. Cheers!
