I've been using NotePerformer for some really impressive results!  Today, some weird playback results were happening, so I reset the midi using the following procedure described in the NotePerformer manual:

  • 1. Select the entire score.
  • 2. Go to the MIDI Tool.
  • 3. Run MIDI Tool ▸ Apply Human Playback...
  • 4. Choose the Clear MIDI Data option, click "Apply" and then Close the dialog.
  • 5. Run MIDI Tool ▸ Clear.

This WORKED!  My score started playing right again.  HOWEVER, many of my dynamics were totally erased from the score!  I had to re-load the Maestro default library, and recreate lots of the dynamics that I had used.  Here is a screenshot where there had been a FFp dynamic:

This seems strange!  I'm now proofing my score and adding the missing dynamics.  I wonder how many other dynamics were deleted??

It would be interesting to hear from Arne W what, if any, interaction NotePerformer has with Finale Human Playback. I tend to doubt that clearing MIDI data would (or at least should) affect written dynamics; but it would be interesting to know what happened in your case.
