Have you tried Update Layout?

Yes. It just made the handles disappear; still can't see the notes.

And when you see all of these boxes that look like handles all over the screen, what Finale tool is active at that time.

Can you post a screen shot?

Either Articulation or Smart Shapes - though Measure Tool does, too - almost any tool with handles.

Looks like missing fonts, but if it only happens on the final pages....

Could something have changed the font color or transparency?

What was the solution to this? Experiencing the same problem. Except, (1) it's with measures at the beginning of the file, not the end, (2) it's not just the music, but the text fields (title, composer, copyright); and (3) I cannot see the music in either Page Layout or Scroll View. I can see the music in Speedy Entry, but only the measure I'm working on. I did add the measures last, however, as I wanted to expand the intro. I'm using version 27.3.0.160 on a Mac. Tried Update Layout, changing the default music font, Fit Measures, and a bunch of other stuff. Help!

This could be some sort of file corruption.

As a test (not as a solution), try exporting as MusicXML, and import the MusicXML into a fresh, new document.

Also, you can send this to MM Support through the Submit a request link at the top of the page. 

Please post the solution once found. That helps everyone.

Curiously, the notes show up in pdfs created from the file, ...

Obliviously there is something there. Finale thinks there is something there. Why it doesn't display notes and music I don't know. It would be interesting to see if it is the same on a different computer or XML export and XML import.
