Hello, I was using Garritan CFX on my macbook pro 2015 with not many issues (except sound getting bad when open for a long time). I bought a new MSI gaming laptop with really nice specs that runs Windows 10 Pro. It has 32G RAM, and a Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10980HK CPU. When I initially ran Garritan connected to my ARIUS ydp-184 digital piano (USB midi), I noticed there was lag. I spent time figuring it out and eventually got it working without lag fine using WASAPI for audio API, 48000 Hz sample rate, and 1024 buffer size. Before I closed my laptop that night, I did a windows update. Next morning, I tried to get it working but when I opened it I got this error dialog reading: init: Audio Engine Start Error -> "Check Preferences. Maybe the current driver doesn't support this sample rate." Now I cannot get the sound to output through the WASAPI audio api at all, so I have to resort back to MME for Audio Device API which causes lag when I press the keys.. My audio driver is "Speakers (3-Realtek(R) Audio)" and the laptop I own is MSI GS66 Stealth.

I need help. How can I get the it to not lag when I press the keys using MME? Or is there a way to get my old WASAPI option working (this option fixed the lag for me but doesnt work anymore... possibly due to the windows update). Im tempted to just return my new gaming laptop and get the latest mac book pro since it was very seamless with my old macbook pro :(

Have you considered getting an audio interface?  You arguably have a very high-end laptop and should couple that with an ASIO audio interface.  With your laptop, you might be able to run 48000 Hz at 32 buffer size.  You'll be able to run 48000 Hz at 64 buffer size for sure.  Stay away from anything that isn't ASIO.  And it's best to use ASIO drivers from the vendor of the audio interface that you use... Not ASIO4All.
