Good day,

I am new to using a sound library on my computer and controlling it via MIDI from my Yamaha S90ES keyboard.

I purchased an iConnectivity MIO cable to connect MIDI to USB on my laptop.

I'm buying Jazz Big Band 3 (from the Garritan site) and am wondering if there is any other software that I will need on my (new) Dell laptop

besides JBB3.

Hi Pat,

 

You should not need to install any other software to use your Yamaha keyboard with the ARIA Player and the JABB3 instrument library. When you launch the ARIA Player for the first time, go to the Tools menu and select Preferences. Make sure that your Yamaha is selected in the MIDI input section and you should not have to make any other adjustments. If you do encounter any setbacks, feel free to contact us directly with the Submit a Request option above.

Hi,

Thanks for the helpful information. I've not yet tried to connect my S90 to a computer because I'm in the process of buying a new 2in1 laptop which I will use. Already bought the iConnectivity USB-MIDI cable and the JBB3 library.

One thing I am curious about is that I want to use say "Tenor sax" from JBB3 during a gig but be able (during a song) to quickly switch back and forth from sounds in my S90 and the JBB3 on my laptop. The key here is "quickly" (ideally one button as I do today).

Any knowledge of whether it is possible to quickly switch back and forth between the laptop and my S90?
