For some reason my alto sax 1 part is playing back with a horrible tinny out-of-tune sound.  Alto sax 2 is fine as are the other two lower saxes.  I have checked the score manager and both altos are set up properly.  What could be going on?

 

I am using a Mac OS 10.11 and version 26 of Finale.  Thanks.

Does the alto 1 have any "pitch bend" things happening? (Like scoops, fall-offs, glisses...etc.)

Did this happen from the start, or did it suddenly start?
I've had this when the tone turned to crap. The intonation also goes, and sometimes all the parts drop about a step. It makes it disconcerting to input with a keyboard that's producing its own sound, as Finale will also play its off pitch.

Workarounds:
Restart Finale. If that doesn't work, reboot computer
Switch to NotePerformer or some other playback engine. Whatever it is, it's something not playing well with the Aria player/
I also often have part dropouts in Aria. The playback element of Finale has become nearly useless to me.
