Despite setting up the audio track as per the instructions on Finale use manual, I cannot record on to n audio track in Finale

I have gone through the knowledge database and cannot find a similar posting.

What baffles me is there isn't an audio signal being displayed on the track's input metre. I am playing a synth through my audio interface, which I can hear but I don't think Finale can 'see' the audio signal. I have just started using a MOTU Midi interface so I am also getting the Midi piano sound at the same time as the synth's audio.

Please advise.
