I use version 27 of Finale on a Windows 10 PC.  Once of the features missing is support for languages that are RTL (right to left) like Hebrew or Arabic.  As a Hebrew speaker, you can make titles, subtitles, and make expressions (with the expression tool) in Hebrew without a problem, and v.27 now doesn't flip the letters when exporting to PDF.  However, in the text tool, a button is missing to enable Finale to understand that the text is RTL like Hebrew/Arabic and not LTR, i.e. all the languages using Latin characters.

This tool exists for years in Microsoft Office/Gmail, Google Docs (and I'm sure other software) but is completely absent in Finale.  This would be a great addition for an international audience, as well as Hebrew/Arabic speakers around the world, and Jews and Muslims who would like to include religious texts in Finale.

We were promised a complete rewrite of the text and lyric tools years ago. Personally, I’ve stopped waiting. I mean, they can’t even add a proper non-breaking hyphen or an elision. The PTB evidently feel that file sharing and SMUFL are more important.

But I certainly second your request.

Thanks Mike for your vote! If the folks at MM are receptive to the idea, it will add a new level of flexibility to the software.  At the moment (the issue came up for a music theory exam I was asked to notate), the best solution I found from a fellow Israeli expert was to write the exam questions in Hebrew in word, and then export the specific music bars in to Word as graphics.  That was easy to do, but it would be a time saver to be able to do it all "in house" without having to export.
