I recently upgraded to Finale v26. (v27 is not available in Germany yet.) Since I built a new PC (Windows 10, MB Asus B550 ProArt, Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB Ram, 2 x 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD, and so on...a tremedous package of hardware) after nearly 10 years performance has improved but not much. E. g. Loading the program still needs a lot of time. In comparison MS Word is loaded nearly immediatly now. The performance of the audio export ist also disappointing. Over all my new PC is very fast, every program works fine and fast, except Finale.

Yesterday I tried to check for the export reasons, by generating an audio file (mp3). While doing this I checked the CPU core usage with the tool Core Temp. Only three cores of my CPU, which has got 12 cores, were used. Obviously Finale is treating my CPU like a 4 core processor. Increasing the CPU core usage of Finale would be just one nice improvement.

I use Finale for many years. The developers are very busy in adding new features which honestly most of them I do not need. (I'm a software developer in SAP ... we call this behavior featureritis). I would really appreciate, if the developers would spend much more time in improving stability (could also be better) and performance of the program. This is a hard job, I know, because it normally means refactoring the software. But hey...we all need challenges.
