What is the best way to indicate at the end of a vocal/piano score that there is a slight tempo reduction in the last measure of the first verse and then back to normal tempo at first measure of the second verse?

Thank you, the ritard woks as expected but I have not been able to determine how to add "a tempo." I suspect that there is something wrong with the "Expression Selection" dialog as it only shows objects in the "Show All" mode. If I select any other mod - "Tempo Marks," Tempo Alterations," etc. they are completely blank.
This sounds like this file was created in an old version of Finale and opened in a newer version of Finale.
Are you concerned about playback or just the way it looks? Are you using Human playback? If you don't see the expression you want do you know how to create them? You can also put a tempo marking in measure 1 and make it hidden. This would playback correctly and give you the option of either having the tempo marking be shown or hidden. What do you want?
Yes, it is an old score that I have opened in many Finale updates over the years. Nothing at all seems to work right with the tempo. Even if I add the original tempo after ritard it does not change. And then when I re-start at the beginning it plays at a much slower tempo and I can't change that either. Is there no way to fix something like an old score so that it works properly in a new version of Finale?
XML export/import fixed almost everything! Just a few minor items that appear to be easy to adjust. For example, several piano slurs are way out of position but easy to re-set correctly. The "Expression Selection" now has a large selection of options which were not there before. "rit." and "a tempo" work exactly as expected. Thanks for the help.
