I see this was already asked before (found a post of 3 years ago), but I would like to "activate" the suggestion again as nothing has changed in the meantime ...

I make a lot of use of the Editing filter and it would be very handy if I could see somewhere in the GUI if my Filter option is enabled or not. Something like the indication of "NUM" in the right bottom.

Maybe it could be an idea to have a kind of "status bar" at the bottom of the screen where the user can enable several messages (like Filter on/off and maybe other settings ?) ...

Anyway, I think many people would be glad to see the status of the filter all the time instead of always going to the context menu (or doing edits and then see that you filter was in the wrong status). Could avoid a lot of frustrations ;o)

Koen,

 

Use the Submit a Request tab at the top of the page and send it in. That way, they will “officially” have it.

Thanks Mike for you help.
"Submit a request" done now ... Let's hope they do something with it, I think it would be very handy for everyone who switches a lot between the filter status.

Hi Koen,

 

Thanks for sending in the suggestion. There has certainly been many times when I had forgotten that the Use Filter option was selected and wondered at the strange behavior I was seeing while copy/pasting items. I can definitely see the usefulness of having something on-screen to easily reference if this option was selected or not. I wouldn't consider this a high priority issue for v27 at the moment, but I have documented it in our backlog for future updates.
