Hello! I currently use Finale 26.3.1.643 on a MacBook Pro Big Sur 11.5.2. I know all the keyboard shortcuts and things are smooth. I’m thinking of buying Finale for my work computer which is an HP laptop running Windows (8th Gen Inter Core i 5). Would it be a real pain to learn and use two sets of keyboard shortcuts, or does Finale work pretty consistently between Mac and PC? Do any of you use Finale on both Mac and PC? How is it going? Thank you!!

You may have to learn a few different shortcuts, and a few things may not be exactly the same. Having said that, it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

I don't think you will notice much of a difference. Some small things. The names of certain keys is different like the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys. The appearance is slightly different too but not foreign. I personally buy and use a PC for two reasons. One Mac's cost too much for what you get. Two, the OS is terribly difficult to live with. Not to say MS is any saint but not as bad as Mac. However, once up and running I see no special or real difference between the two. I could be happy using either one. You will too.

I am a university professor where I have taught Finale in classrooms with Windows computers, at home I have macOS installed. The differences are minimal if we talk only about the operation of the shortcuts in the alphanumeric block of the keyboard, but what does become a big change is if in one of the computers you have numeric block and in the other you do not. In that case, you could buy the numeric keypad to connect it via USB. Saludos desde Medellín Colombia
