Operating System: Windows 7 Professional

Software: 2014.5.6359

I have been a FInale user for quite a while but I have always used MIDI instruments or SmartSynth.  I'm sure this problem has been addressed many times but I have read many posts and am still stuck.  My version isn't supported anymore hence this post.  In 2016 I bought and downloaded "Finale Notation and Garritan."  My understanding is that to use Garritan instruments I need Aria.  So I downloaded it.  I also followed the instructions at Setting-up-Garritan-libraries-with-Finale-and-PrintMusic to install Garritan Instant Orchestra.xml and GIOInstruments.soundmap as directed.  After doing this Garritan Instant Orchestra is first in Sound Map Priority and in the Score Manager under device I see Garritan Instant Orschestra, Aria and Aria (multi) in addition to SmartSynth.  When I choose an instrument with Device set to Garritan Instant Orchestra I hear nothing from my computer (I do with SmartSynth).  Reassign Playback Sounds just sets device to SmartSynth.  If I set the Device (in Score Manager) to Aria it says I should "edit player."  When I click on that I see an Error  “Slot 0: Aria cannot find “(whatever sound I asked for from Garritan)” from product:-1”  This must be the issue.  I have tried setting the volume and mod wheel up in the Aria mixer but no luck.  No Sound.  I'm confident others have solved this problem so I hope to be up soon.  Thanks very much

Look in appdata - Roaming - MakeMusic - Finale 2014 - MIDI Device Annotation. Is Garritan Instruments for Finale.xml there?

Then look in ... Finale 2914 - VST Support. You should see files as in the attachment.
