The same error.happened on the HP envy
I.was on the phone for a long time and email supports. The technician all gave up and finale still does not work. I believe that perhaps it's a patent issue or copywrite what else can I do but thinknof the worst ?

Does sound work in other apps? Does it work on other new, Finale docs?

I’m pretty sure that patents or copyrights have nothing to do with the problem.

First, I would try Finale without any other programs or software running. Reboot your computer.  You may have a conflict with sound drivers. Plus make sure all sound drivers are up to date.

I've had the problem, too.  Starting in version 26 (I think) Finale had to have access to your microphone. Go to Windows settings for microphone privacy and enable the microphone.

There is also an intermittent problem with sound where the Garritan sounds do not load. I have to change each instruments device in Score Manager to SmartMusic SoftSynth then change it back to Garritan.  That also changes the sounds that were selected and you have to change those back.

No sound, GPO5 added, changed settings for it. Restarted, Sample plays no sound. Test sound works.

Also try this.   MIDI/AUDIO  >  reassign playback sounds

Does GPO5 show up in MIDI/AUDIO  >  sound map priority?  Is it available as a selection in Score Manager?
