Hello I have a licence for Finale v26. I would ask you a question. I have been composing a music and there is a passage for 9 bars having a reprise at the beginning of it and having also first and second ending (8th bar is first ending having a reprize and 9th bar is the second ending and it finishes) . I have a violin solo and orchestra accompaniment in that passage but I want the violin solo to be heard in second time ( after the first ending) How can I arrange it? Because It is played in both times. If you answered immediately I would be very happy. Best regards, Atif

You can set an expression to assign an instrument to an empty MIDI channel for a given repetition and use another expression to (re)assign it to its original MIDI instrument channel.

If I understand you correctly, the issue here is playback, rather than layout - right?

 

You can mute the violin solo on the first pass with a custom expression*).

Then, use another expression to un-mute on the second pass.

 

*)Take a look in the MIDI/Audio menu.

What playback device are you using?

Perhaps {Play Finale Through MIDI} ?

The way you mute and un-mute, depends on the playback device.
