I know this has been addressed before, but to no avail.

So, I thought I would remind MakeMusic of this need, that of having a text tool to not only copy text, but for the the "copy" to include formatting and page positioning and then being able to paste it into another document. This should (I would think) be a relatively simple thing to do, similar to using copy and paste controls in a word processing program.

As it is, if I have a large block of text--i.e. a set of instructions--I typically copy the text, paste it into Notepad (Windows; I have a shortcut in my Task Bar) and then have that ready for copying into other documents. Of course, I then have to format and position it, but at least I have the content copied for pasting.

I find this is particularly useful when working with older files.

Thank you,
:-)

How about just a simple real deal text editor?  Not MS Word mind you but perhaps like Word Pad.

Right on, Ernie.
Doesn't have to be full blown. "Word Pad-ish" would certainly suffice.

I have never understood why MM seems so resistant to do what seems basic and logical improvements to Finale. Sibelius has as its text editor "Basic formats" and "Advanced formats" which isn't a real deal text editor either but offers more control than Finale does. Color for instance.
