After >25 years with the staccato dot as the first articulation in the Articulation Tool, that slot is now the tenuto line. And the only staccato dot (as opposed to wedge) I can find is 71 "for tab". What's going on? How do I fix this? I could probably make one, but I shouldn't have to make something that basic.
Articulations are document specific (not program specific).
I suppose that the problem is with the actual Finale document you are working on - not with the template from which the document was created.
My guess is that this document’s staccato articulation somehow got deleted.
If you create another new document from the same template, then this new document has the staccato - right?
In the first document, to get the staccato back, load a library with the staccato:
File menu > Lod Library…
