- closed the document, and opened it again?

- quitted Finale, and launched it again?

- rebooted?

- tried trashing Finale’s preferences file?

- tested a brand new user account?

Do you perhaps mean a mid-document clef change?

Treble Clef bass clef. it's so simple! maybe i'm using the wrong word. a note ism either too hi or too low, lets say in the treble clef, so i switch to the bass clef to make it without so many ledger lines. i wish i could take a snap shot so you'd see right away what i'm talking about
