How about an option to copy music with lyrics attached, but instead of making a duplicate set of the lyrics in the Lyrics Window, it just links the lyrics already present to the target measures?   Like an auto-Clone-Lyrics effect.  My Lyrics Window is a mess because this doesn't happen.  And, if I correct a typo or misspelling, now I have to correct multiple instances of it.

Which is precisely why I don’t clone lyrics. Copy the music without lyrics. Copy lyrics into different verse windows, and flow them into the score. No shortcuts.

Honestly, that sounds even worse.   I want one set of lyrics in one window, and each lyric is assigned to multiple places in the score.

You can do that, but it leaves one open to possible unplanned effects down the road if you later edit.

Yes, if I edit a lyric with "Type into score" it will change all instances of that lyric.  That's what I want, usually.   If I need to change one instance of a lyric that is assigned to multiple parts, I'll erase it from the score with the selection tool, which keeps it exactly where it is in the Lyrics Window.  Then I'll Type Into Score the new lyric.

I don't want multiple verses / sections / etc. in a staff because they ignore one another's smart word extensions and hyphens, leaving me with unexpected little lines everywhere if I'm not super careful.
