I downloaded Finale Print Music 2014.5 and I cannot use anymore. I need to upgrade Finale Print Music 2014.5 to a version for macOS.

Can you help me?

Depending on your Mac OS you may only be able to run 64-bit programs, which no version of PrintMusic will satisfy.

If this is the case and you wish to continue to use Finale products, you will either have to upgrade to full Finale or find a way to obtain an older Mac OS on (one of) your computer(s).

You don't mention your version of MacOs.

Just in case :

PrintMusic could be made to run over High Sierra but that was problematic at best. It will not work over Mojave or later.

You can upgrade to Finale 27.2 directly through your MakeMusic account or through your favorite reseller.

In the US, the retail price of PrintMusic was $99 and the last version for Mac (2014/2014.4) was 32 bit. It cannot run over Catalina. There is absolutely no workaround.

You have two choices: a) Upgrade to the full version of Finale at the link I posted earlier (or your favorite reseller).

b) Roll back your MacOS to a version that supports PrintMusic. I recommend MacOS 10.11 El Capitán. One way is to set up an external drive to boot into an older OS for apps that cannot run over Catalina. USB external SSDs aren’t very expensive—about the same cost as upgrading to Finale 27.

Although I run Monterey on my iMac Pro, there’s one 32 bit app I still use that requires Mojave or earlier. An external Mojave boot drive works fine for me.

I downloaded Finale many years ago and it was not cheap. Now I cannot use it anymore because my Mac does not support  the old version of PrintMusic.

That is not right. Why I need to pay again, $99, for something that is mine?

That is not fair.

I am from Brasil and $99 to me is very expensive and I want my Finale back. I will not back to an older version of Mac OS.

There is no version of PrintMusic that will run on a Mac beginning OS 10.14 Mojave, released nearly five years ago. MakeMusic decided not to make it for you or anyone else. Your current version will run on an older MacOS only. There is no workaround.

As computers and operating systems get newer, software upgrades are a fact of life. The current MacOS 12 Monterey works with the full version of Finale. As I have written before, you can upgrade through your MakeMusic/FinaleMusic User account or through your favorite reseller.

We are a User to User support forum with volunteers who do not work for MakeMusic. If you wish to yell at Finale, please use the Submit a request link at the top of the page.

Do I need to pay to upgrade the new version of Finale ( Finale 27.2 )?

Yes, you will need to pay to upgrade, but you will add a lot of functionality to what PrintMusic has offered you.

Actually MakeMusic is not forcing you to upgrade. Apple is.
