I use a v.25 version of Finale.  I have a Windows 10 operating system.

I am assisting a person who is writing a method book for the clarinet.  In a Word document she wants me to insert an 1/8 note beamed to two 1/16 notes.  It should not be on a staff.  I tried using the Maestro text in Word, but could only figure out how to type in a flagged 1/8 note and two separate flagged 1/16 notes.  Is there a way to produce this on Finale and to insert in a Word document?

Just thinking aloud without Finale in front of me: what if you use blank staves (a staff style with no staff lines) and input the notes then use the graphic tool (or take a screenshot) to output it to an image file?

Former Finale user Dan Kreider has created a couple of fonts for such purposes. Although the characters are in Dorico's music font Bravura, the font is designed to be used in text documents and situations. Check out MusGlyphs at https://www.notationcentral.com/product/musglyphs/ to see if it is what you need. The font is free, although a $10 donation is requested, which you could send if you decide to use it.

Thanks very much, everyone, for your assistance!  I got it to work.
