Downloaded Finale v27 followed by Aria and Garritan as instructed on Windows 11 pc. On Finale launch, I receive Error Code 7. So, followed every helpful hint and recommendation available with no success. Deleted program. Downloaded again with same result. Can anyone provide assistance. New to this and the support ticket I submitted has gone unanswered. Needing a bit of guidance since I'm clearly still doing something wrong. Thanks.

Unfortunately, Error Code 7 (Windows) and Error Code -7 (Mac) are generic OS errors that tell you something is wrong (as if you didn't already know, right?).

Entering Error Code 7 in the Search window yields 142 results. Best to do is look through those and see if something applies to your situation.

Here are the most common problem areas. Your sound driver needs update as well as your video driver. Stop the print spooler. Try disabling the printer.

Make sure the mic is turned on whether you use it or not or even if you do not have a mic.

You can turn the print spooler back on after Finale loads. I have a Realtek sound card and I had a hard time updating its driver. So don't just believe it when Windoze says it is up to date.

I need my Finale, for which I paid good money, to work.  There is no excuse for this Error Code 7.  Please make it work, since you have control over it.  Thank you.

Please make it work, since you have control over it.

We on this forum don't have "control" over it. We are simple users just like yourself. The things I suggested you try are just some of what I have seen work for people. We can't know your machine or how you have it set up.

As I posted two years ago, this is a generic Windows message and can mean many things. Per Ernie's suggestion, you should contact Support by using the Submit a request link at the top of the page. In the meantime,
