How can I lock pages, not just systems? It seems that whenever I open my rather large orchestral score, the page numbering has changed, and with it the format of different pages. I mostly have one system to a page, but sometimes also 2 or even 3, with different page size percentages. I need to LOCK pages in place so not everything gets scrambled as soon as I make some changes.

Thank you very much, that should fix it!

You can also use a hard page break. Choose the Page Layout tool and insert page break.

PB tool lets you define the page layout for your file, including the page size, size of the page margins, and the positioning of the systems on each page.

Thanks for the help. But I am still looking for a way to just lock the formatting of a page independent of the page number. For instance, if I need to insert a page somewhere it will throw off all the following pages (which may have varying numbers of systems) since the formatting is tied to the page number.

What are your steps when you insert a page?

My first guess would be

Page Layout Tool.

Page Layout menu > Insert Blank Pages…

Is that what you are doing?

or ...
are you (more likely?) doing this? ...
Page Layout Tool.
Page Layout menu > Insert Staff Systems
(which will affect your page layout differently again)

and (this you probably know, but just in case) ...
it's usually best to work in scroll view (without worryiny abut any layout issues) until all your musical elements have been entered the way you want to. Only once you're finished with that, go to layout your pages as the very last thing you do.
