The TINY boxes which show which LAYER you are in, need some way to make it EASY to see which layer is active.  I've been with Finale since June 1994 and have wished for this but never spoken.  But my advancing years now really need this in the future. My new 32-inch monitors don't really improve my ability to see which layer is ACTIVE. :)  Just a touch of color - be it black or anything would be so useful.

Thank you for reading.

In the newer versions, the note and rest cursors change color to reflect the layer.

Also, the Mac version uses a (still, small) dropdown, rather than the little Windows frames to show the layer.

I just logged on to make this exact suggestion. I use layers constantly and it's very easy to forget you're in a layer before you mess something up!

It would be most helpful if the active color would glow in the lower left corner, rather than just be white. If you're in layer two, it's clear because it lights up red down there; if you're in layer 3, there's a green glow while the remaining layers are white. Even a crappy Microsoft Paint mockup shows how much more obvious and useful it could be...

Thank you for the COLOR suggestion!  That is exactly what I would want!
