I need to move PC generated .musx files/scores into a Mac running Monterey.  They copy over fine but I lose all the ScoreManager Aria Player voices and assignments.  Anyone know how to overcome this?

What version(s) of Finale are you running? Is the Mac Intel or Apple Silicon?

Thanks for responding.  Version Finale 26.3.1.520.  As to the Mac all I can tell you is that it's a Mac Studio Apple M1 Max.  Aria Player loaded and all my voice libraries are resident on the Mac.  They will play.

26 must be run over Rosetta 2 on a Studio as must any plug-ins and VI players you are using with it. To run Native ver Apple Silicon, Finale must be 27.2 or later. That 26 is going through a translator on the Mac may be the problem right there.

Finale on the Mac uses AU libraries while Windows accesses VSTs. Either run SoftSynth via MIDI. You need to check the setup so that they are accessing what they’re supposed to.

One thing to try is exporting as MusicXML 3.1 uncompressed from the PC and importing into the Mac. I don’t have a PC anymore so I have no way to test this.

Another possibility is to try the Finale 27 demo, especially since upgrade prices are now far less than they used to be.

Also try running the Reassign Instruments routine to see if that can help. The Aria install may not have wiped out a previous iteration of the Aria Player (if one was already on your machine).

Thank you both both your responses.  I'll download F27 and see if a miracle happens.

I installed 27 but problem remains as before.  I went back to the PC and this time saved the score to a stick rather than simply copying the .musx file in File Manager.  I then opened the score from the stick on the Mac.  The voices and channel assignments came through but only for Aria Player 1.  On this score I have six players active.  So I figured I'll just add the missing ones on the next available player.  Uh uh, ScoreManager says those aren't available.  Went into AU Banks/Effects and discovered Aria Player only showed on the first bank.  Changed them all to Aria Player and then ScoreManager allowed me to use them.  The voices and channels were still not there however.

I noticed on my new Finale for Mac that you can no longer customize the items in the tool palettes.  Bummer.

agreed. It’s something I’ve reported for years and wish it could be customized. At one point it could but as a I recall, with an OS update, it was no longer possible. There is a crude workaround involving reordering the palette items then resizing the palette to exclude them but it usually doesn’t last. Sorry.
