7 and -7 are generic errors that tell you something cannot be found.

Did you run both installers in the download? Did you reboot when done?

I ran both installers, on two installs on two different machines. Same error.

What puzzles me is that -7 is usually a Mac error while 7 is normally Windows.

If you type Error 7 in the Search box, you will find over a thousand posts Error -7 reveals only 623. As you go through them, look for any that may apply to your setup. Again, 7 and -7 are generic OS messages that mean something didn't load or can't be found.

With Windows, this often means a driver conflict. You'll find pages of posts about that.

You can also send this directly to Support via the Submit a request link at the top of the page.

Things to try in Windows 10

Make sure all you drivers are the latest available. Obliviously your sound driver but also your video driver. <--- don't skip that.

Make sure allow access to the microphone is turned on.

Make sure you have the latest Aria player version.

Finale 27 runs on thousands of Windows computers so it will run on yours. You have a conflict with something. Finding it can be frustrating I know but it will work.

Same error, two separate laptops. Every time I upgrade.

Finale used to be the industry standard. Now I see what happened.

Michael,

The problem is with your computer(s) not Finale. Try reaching out the MM support, they will help resolve it.
